Sound Idea: Canmore World ‘jewel’

You can almost see the orchestra behind Calvin Buss gearing up as the maestro enthusiastically counts the many reasons he has chose Canmore to build a high-end project.

Symphony is a 76-unit condominium that will be build in the latest phase of Three Sisters Mountain Village, adjacent to the 10th fairway of Stewart Creek gold course.

The project will mark the first location to be constructed under the banner of Timber Creek Properties. “There’s only one resort within a drive of less than 2.5 hours of Calgary, and that’s Canmore – less that an hour away,” say Buss. “An international airport (Calgary) is within 45 minutes, attraction people worldwide. There are only 10 years of developable land left in Canmore, so opportunity to buy new are limited and the value is certain to go up.”

The development is surrounded by 1.01 million hectares of pristine alpine wilderness, say Buss. “It’s in an oil-rich province and it’s a true four-season resort destination with seven wonderful golf course in the area(including Stewart Creek and another now being built in Three Sisters) and three internationally acclaimed ski hills close by.” He hardly takes a breath. “it had clean air, it hosted the Olympics so is internationally known; and Three Sister is so Beautiful.” says Buss. “As time moves forward, Canmore residents will reap huge benefits from owning here. It’s one of the great jewels in the entire world.” He praises the recent buyout of Three Sisters Mountain Village by East West Partners and Morgan Stanley – “both experienced in real estate development.”

The master plan for the area is great, he says. “East West has put together a wonderful business plan to take it to the next level.”
Buss will be taking his first project to a high level as well. “We decided to build something of beauty.” He says of Symphony – something that emulated the quality and lid-world sophistication of the famed Fairmount Banff Springs Hotel. The firm of Marshall Titamore Architects, which worked on the famous hotel as well as Chateau Lake Louise, has been hired by Timber Creek Properties.

The site is elevated with mountain views on four sides. The development has been specifically designed to take advantage of the site and views, which include a pond. The homes, themselves, have also been designed to take advantage of the views and to provide am open concept.
Specifications include such high-end features as Subzero and Wolf appliances, rock feature walls and alder doors.
“The smallest unit will be 1,300 square feet and the specifications will be high, with prices at around $700 t0 $800 a square foot,” says Buss. “Symphony was never designed to be the best-prices resort in Canmore, but rather to be the pest at providing the finest quality and most-rewarding lifestyle.”

Watch for the curtain call. Sales are set to commence, but people can register from the website or visit the sales centre on site at 1101 Three Sisters Parkway in Three Sisters Mountain Village, Canmore.
Construction is set to begin next spring.
